Letter from Molly

dude12Dear Friend,

Hi! My name is Molly and I am in 7th grade. I go to Saint Hilary School in Tiburon California.

I have a big brother who graduated from Saint Hilary last year, and is now in high school at Saint Ignatius.

My dad goes to work in the city of San Francisco every morning and my mom is a stay-at-home mom. My two favorite sports are softball, and soccer (Futbol). Over the summer I played competitive softball. I play shortstop, which is in between second base, and third base. I had my very first soccer practice of the season yesterday. It was fun to see some of my old friends. For soccer, I play mid-field, and forward.

Do you play any sports?

I am currently part of student council in the Athletics department. It has been tough work.

School just started for me, and there are a lot of changes that I have to adjust to. For my extra curriculum, I am learning to speak Spanish. I am slowly progressing. I think that math is the hardest subject for me for this year because we are learning a whole new section this year. I do enjoy math though. What is your favorite subject to learn at school?

I am very excited to learn about Kenya and its culture. What kind of wildlife do you see frequently?

We usually see foxes, squirrels, deer, coyote, turkeys, vultures, hawks, raccoons, skunks, rabbits, and many different varieties of smaller birds.

I’m sure that we have a lot in common, but we have different ways of living. For instance, I have a small pet hamster. His name is Dax. He is currently nine months old. Do you have any pets? It would be interesting to learn about you family and how you live!

I look forward to hearing from you,

Molly Ashendorf
